Fierce festival is an art and performance festival that has been taking place in Birmingham since 1998. After having a two year break, the festival will be back up and running for two weeks from the end of this month. Visitors can expect live performances, art installations, city walks, gigs, parties and culinary feasts – all happening across various Birmingham institutions and landmarks. More informations here.

Lustmord by Jenny Holzer
“Lustmord” is written from three different perspectives (the Observer, the Perpetrator and the Victim) regarding the rape of women in wartime. The “Lustmord” photographs, images of the text written on human skin, originally were presented in the magazine of the Suddeutsche Zeitung, reaching five hundred thousand readers. The ink used on the cover of this magazine contained women’s blood.
(The title was taken from a German word that means murder plus sexual pleasure.)
